Roadworks Ahead! Bridlington Road to shut over half-term week

Access will be maintained at all times to local businesses, pedestrians, residents and for the emergency services

Part of Bridlington Road in Driffield will be closed during half-term week for necessary works to be carried out.

The section of road links Driffield and Nafferton and will be closed from Monday 28th October to allow resurfacing works.

The carriageway, part of which is known as Nafferton Slack, has experienced closures recently as part of the Bellway Homes ongoing development which began last year.

The road will be closed to all traffic but access will be maintained at all times to local businesses, pedestrians, residents and for the emergency services.

Currently, there are temporary traffic lights on that section of road whilst a roundabout is being built at the entrance to the new estate

The order of closure will prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that part of Bridlington Road and will do so for at least seven days, however the works are expected to take five days to complete.

Closures will be put in place to ensure the works can be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.

Diversions will be in place via the A614 bypass and Scarborough Road in Driffield, with the route signed at the time of the closure.

The road will be closed to all traffic, but access will be maintained for pedestrians, local businesses and emergency vehicles.
