Atkinson Action Horses set to return to 2022 Driffield Show

Organisers of this year’s Driffield Show have confirmed that Atkinson Action Horses will be making a welcome return to the event as the main ring entertainment.

Atkinson Action Horses, based in Eastrington, have spent more than 20 years training horses and riders for both film and TV.

With credits from Poldark, Victoria, Peaky Blinders, The Living and the Dead and Hippopotamus – visitors are bound to have seen this elite force in action on their TV screen.

The equine stunt performers last appeared at the Driffield Show in 2017 when they wowed the crowd with their exciting stunts and performance and visitors to next year’s Show are promised an astounding display of tricks and stunts and are advised to be prepared for ‘heart in your mouth’ demonstrations of astounding acrobatics.

The performance will also include a stunning section dedicated to the art of Liberty – displaying the seamless harmony between the horses and their on-screen trainers.

Following the success of the two-day format at this year’s Driffield Show and after listening carefully to comments received from Show visitors, exhibitors and traders, Driffield Show 2022 will once again take place over two days on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st July.

The fearless team of stunt riders from Atkinson Action Horses will be performing their unique display on both days of the 146th Show amongst a packed timetable of equine excellence that is associated with the Driffield Show.

Cheryl Lynch, society manager at Driffield Showground, said: “It is particularly gratifying to be able to welcome a local performer whose attendance at the Show is due to sponsorship received from a local company, Woolley & Parks.

“Woolley & Parks’ continued support ensures that we can continue to provide Show visitors with the high calibre of entertainment that they have now come to expect.”

To celebrate the launch of next year’s Show, Driffield Agricultural Society has created an early bird ticket, offering a saving of £4 on adult entry and £9 on a family ticket.

Early bird tickets are limited to 3,000 and are available on a first-come-first-served basis from driffieldshowground.co.uk.

Trade stand forms and tickets are available from the website and schedules will be available from early May from driffieldshowground.co.uk.
