Driffield & Wolds Weekly Ukrainian refugees appeal – can you help?

?? ?? ?? Following the devastating developments in Ukraine with hundreds of thousands of refugees leaving for Poland, Romania and Moldova, the Driffield & Wolds Weekly wants to help with a special appeal.

And we want your help and support.

Many are fleeing with just the clothes on their backs and a couple of bags, from babies to those in their 90s.

We are appealing to people in Driffield and across the East Riding for donations of items (not money) which we will try to send to those who need it most.

We want your help to collect as many essentials as we can, and have already received several messages from local East Riding schools who are willing to start collections, which we will then pick up.

While we look into the best way to get donations overseas, you can drop items off, or shoebox-like appeal, at our office – 73 Middle Street South, Driffield (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to noon).

We would be looking to run the collection until 5pm on Tuesday 15th March. Let’s show our support and generosity.

Donations can include items such as:

• Nappies

• Milk formula

• First aid kits

• Shampoo

• Toothbrushes

• Tinned food

• Medicines

• Bandages

• New children’s clothes

• New thermal clothing

• Sanitary towels

• Hairbrushes

• New towels

• Foil survival blankets

• Crayons

• Children’s colouring books

Thank you for your support – let’s help make a difference! ????
