Red Lion pub is snapped up

The latest building to be sold in Driffield is the former Red Lion pub.

The Middle Street North property has been sold subject to contract just months after it went on the market with Driffield estate agents Ullyotts.

The initial valuation of 56-57 Middle Street North was £250,000, however, it is not yet known whether that asking price was met or another was agreed.

Ullyotts could not confirm whether the unit will be reopened as a pub or for a different purpose.

The three-storey public house has been closed since 2017 and was subject to an approved planning application the following year which would have seen alterations and the erection of single storey extensions to the rear and associated landscaping and parking.

Submitted by Potting Shed Trading Limited to continue as a pub, it was back on the market in spring 2019 after administrators were called in to find a new buyer by Authentic Alehouses, which originally bought The Red Lion in November 2017.
