Arcadia, antiques, fine art, jewellery, watches and furniture will go under the hammer in East Yorkshire this week.

Almost 400 lots will be up for grabs at Spicers Auctioneers’ next sale on Friday (26th May) from 10am.

Among the items for a sale are a collection of retro slot machines, pinball games and one-arm bandits

Expected to fetch one of the biggest sums is a coin-operated arcade automaton, Laugh with Jolly Jack – insert a 20p coin and watch the puppet move its body, head and eyes, witha laughter track playing along with the movements.

That is expected to achieve between £6,500 and £7,500.

Other lots of interest include a selection of watches and clocks which are estimated to sell for four-figure sums.

All the items in the auction can be viewed between 9.30am and 4pm on Thursday, 25th May.

Spicers are general auctioneers and valuers of jewellery, watches, paintings, antiques, cars and motorcycles, modern and vintage home furnishings and collectables.

In the summer of 2020, Andy Spicer and wife Barbara found the perfect location for Spicers at the old Waterways Museum in Goole.

Though still located in the East Riding of Yorkshire, the new premises at Dutch River Side in the docklands area were an hour’s car journey from Driffield saleroom. The road networks were better though, being close to the M62, A1, M18 and M1 as well as within easy reach of major cities like Sheffield, Doncaster, Leeds, Hull, York and Manchester by road or rail.
