Winter Woodland returns to Sewerby Hall this December – tickets are on sale now

The magic of Christmas is coming to Sewerby Hall and Gardens with Winter Woodland.

The hugely popular event returns to Sewerby Hall and Gardens this Christmas, from Friday 8th to Friday 22nd December.

Winter Woodland is an immersive entertainment event with a captivating display of lights, sounds and special effects that will bring the grounds of Sewerby to life for a wondrous evening out for the whole family.

This year’s Winter Woodland will include a new route and a new theme, a chance to embark on a magical Christmas rescue, along with a host of cheerful festive characters.

The mischievous elves accidentally dropped a sack of presents while flying over Sewerby Hall and Gardens and visitors’ assistance is urgently needed to locate and recover them.

The fairy atop the Christmas tree has bestowed her wondrous magic upon the woods, illuminating them with a captivating display of colours, glitters and twinkles and some brand new displays for 2023.

Take a stroll down the candy cane lane and be in awe of the giant Christmas bauble.

Step into Winter Woodland, where cheerful festive characters await to lend a hand to help rescue Christmas, in a truly unforgettable experience for all the family.

But the fun doesn’t stop in the grounds, the house will also be brought to life with festive activities and The Nutcracker trail.

Set on Christmas Eve many years ago, where toys come to life and take the children on an unforgettable adventure, explore the Nutcracker’s place in popular culture since the story’s publication in 1816.

Grab a bite to eat from the Clock Tower Café, Stables Pizza Company, Peaky Grinders and Love Hog Roast.

The courtyard marquee will house a licenced bar, from Louisiana Bars. As a new addition for 2023, don’t miss out on a chance to browse craft stalls from local vendors, which will have wonderful trinkets available for purchase.

Refreshments will be available to purchase along the route as well as enjoying toasted marshmallows at an additional charge.

There will be six admission sessions each evening. Admission times will be between 4:30pm-5pm, 5pm-5:30pm, 5:30pm-6pm, 6pm-6:30pm, 6:30pm-6:50pm and 6:50pm-7:15pm.

Tickets for all performances will cost: Adults £16; Child £12; Family (2 adults +2 children) £50; Under 3s free of charge (ticket not required).

Tickets must be bought online in advance; they will not be available on the door.
