Blogger success for
@notsofarmerswife

Nafferton blogger Stephanie Cox has described her ‘crazy’ two years which has seen her leave her job, become a mum and be nominated for the Yorkshire Blogger Awards 2022.

The 29-year-old admitted to being an avid social media user and created an Instagram account under the name @notsofarmerswife five years ago when she and partner Ben moved to a new home.

What started as a hobby soon became a prominent part of everyday life for Stephanie and when the COVID-19 pandemic hit two-and-a-half years ago, she decided to quit her job and take the jump into full-time blogging.

Stephanie’s account now has just under 38,000 followers where she began documenting home life before branching out into her and Ben’s IVF journey and onto motherhood.

She now shares family meal ideas and days out as part of her blogging, the former leading to her becoming a finalist in the Food & Drink category for the Yorkshire Blogger Awards, hosted at Left Bank, Leeds.

Despite not taking first prize, Stephanie said she enjoyed the evening.

“I started the Instagram account five years ago, just as a hobby, but when COVID hit, I left my job and wanted to give it a go full-time,” she told the Wolds Weekly.

“Many others make a living out of social media, so I thought why can’t I?

“It’s a lifestyle account and I share ideas and tips to others and if I can inspire another family or new mum to something simple such as a new meal plan or even to help them through the IVF process, that would be great.

“When I was given notification that I had made the final shortlist of five for the awards, I thought, ‘Wow, this is a bit crazy’.

“It was a fantastic evening to be a part of and an amazing experience.

“I met some nice people from different backgrounds and made new connections, so it was beneficial in that sense too.”

The Yorkshire Blogger Awards are nominated for by members of the public, with category sponsor Fleur Restaurant and Bar in Leeds choosing the winner.

Stephanie’s account has also led her to make new friends having moved to Nafferton from Saltburn-by-Sea and only knowing Ben previously.

“My account has given me a new lease of life and has helped me in my personal life as well,” she continued.

“I only knew Ben when I first moved to Nafferton, but since creating @notsofarmerswife, I’ve met so many new people.

“Not just other bloggers either, just general people or some of my followers who have contacted me.

“One lady, who is now my best friend, has a son the same age as mine and we’ve connected on so many levels, which is a huge bonus for me.

“I’m really proud to have got to where I am with my account and I can’t thank everyone enough for their support.

“Thank you to those who follow me, as without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today and thanks to the nominations and votes I have received.”

As for the name @notsofarmerswife, Stephanie added: “Ben is a farmer, but I’m not his wife yet and I don’t think he’s got the hint!”
