JUSTICE FOR LINCOLN – LOCAL MP CAMPAIGNS FOR BAN ON HORNSEA’S TESCO CAT TO BE REVERSED

Graham Stuart, the MP for Beverley and Holderness, is campaigning to have the ban on Lincoln, Hornsea’s ‘Tesco cat’, to be reversed.

Upon hearing of the ban, the MP immediately wrote to Ken Murphy, CEO of Tesco, and the store management to demand that Lincoln be returned to his spot on the bags of compost in the store’s foyer, as well as launching a petition.

Lincoln, who has become a local celebrity, had been a regular feature at the store for three years, until a change of heart on the part of the store’s management team saw him reportedly manhandled and thrown off the premises.

Owners Lorraine and Kris Clarke were shocked to learn that their cat would no longer be welcome at the store.

“It’s not right that Lincoln has been removed from his perch atop the compost at Tesco in Hornsea,” said Mr Stuart.

“He’s not hurting anyone and he brings joy to the community; that’s why I have launched a petition calling for the reversal of this unfair ban.”

Lincoln’s owner Lorraine Clarke added, “Lincoln is so much more than just a cat. He brings joy to so many people, not just locally but globally now too.

“My husband and I are amazed that his story has caught the eye our local MP, Graham Stuart.”
