TWO BODIES FOUND DURING SEARCH FOR FATHER AND SON MISSING IN SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS
Police in Scotland have confirmed that two bodies have been found during the search for a father and son who went missing during a hike in the Scottish Highlands.
Tom Parry, 49, and his son Richie, were visiting Glen Nevis and Glencoe and were due to return to their home in Cheshire on Wednesday.
Their car was discovered in Glencoe, close to where they had gone hillwalking.
On Thursday morning, Police Scotland confirmed that two bodies had been found during the search by officers.
“They are yet to be formally identified,” said a force spokesperson. “However, the family of father and son Tom Parry, 49, and Richie Parry, 12, from Cheshire, who had been reported missing in the area, have been made aware.
“Enquiries are ongoing but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.”
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course, said the force.
Inspector Craig Johnstone said: “Our thoughts are with all those involved. I would like to thank all emergency services and Mountain Rescue volunteers.”
