Two drivers treated for serious injuries after collision on A64 near York

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a collision that occurred on the A64 near York yesterday (Sunday 29th December).

It happened at approximately 7:30pm on the eastbound carriageway of the A64, at the end of the entry slip from the A1036.

Two vehicles collided with a black Ford EcoSport which was stationary. Emergency services attended and two drivers were taken to hospital with serious injuries, a third was treated for minor injuries.

The A64 Eastbound was closed all night to allow for forensic investigation work to be carried out at the scene.

It reopened at 10.45am this morning (Monday 30th December).

“We’re now appealing for anyone who recalls seeing the vehicles involved prior to the collision that has not made contact with us already to get in touch as soon as possible to assist the investigation,” said a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson.

“In particular, officers are appealing for any dash camera footage of the collision. If you can help, please email MCIT@northyorkshire.police.uk and Dan.Stoppard@northyorkshire.police.uk or contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 and ask for Dan Stoppard.
