In Photos: BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend at Burton Constable

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Thousands of excited music lovers from East Yorkshire flocked to Burton Constable Hall last weekend for the 2017 BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend.

Despite the shocking atrocities in Manchester last Monday evening, the Big Weekend continued as planned with fans and musicians alike standing defiant against terrorism by celebrating live music.

In tribute to those who lost their lives at Manchester Arena last week, there was a minute’s silence at 3pm on both days when the crowds of people across the three stages fell silent.

Many acts over the weekend also dedicated songs to those who died.

The very best of live music was the order of the weekend, with Saturday’s headline act Katy Perry and Sunday’s headliners Kings of Leon thrilling the thousands of music fans who attended the event.

Captivating performances from Biffy Clyro, Kasabian, Stormzy, Little Mix, Clean Bandit and The Chainsmokers, to name but a few, also had the crowds of music lovers singing, dancing and enjoying the electric atmosphere.

Radio 1’s Big Weekend is hosted every year in a different location across the country and tickets are free for all attendees.
