GoMobile phone store raided twice in a week by burglars

Appeal for witnesses and to recover stolen property

The GoMobile phone shop on Market Place in Driffield has been targeted twice in a week by burglars.

Overnight on 18th/19th June intruders entered the premises through the roof and stole cash and mobile phone sim cards to the value of over £5000.

Overnight on 23th/24th June the same premises was stuck again through the roof which had been boarded up from the previous incident. Mobile phone accessories including chargers, sim cards and cash were stolen.

It is estimated that total theft of goods and the damaged caused to the premises will cost the store over £9,000

In a separate incident last night (Sunday June 25th/Monday June 26th) the company’s Malton store was also targeted by raiders.

Handling stolen goods is a crime. Knowingly buying stolen goods is an offence. If you know anyone who is buying or selling stolen goods, call Humberside Police on 101.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, you won’t be asked your name and you could receive a cash reward.

Raiders gained entry into the store by smashing through the ceiling from the vacant flat above.


Burglars gained entry into the store through the vacant flat above.
