Lots planned for Sunday’s Driffield Rec Club Gala

The Driffield Town Cricket & Recreation Club Gala is set to take place on Sunday 2nd July at the club’s ground on Kings Mill Road, Driffield.
Admission to the gala will be just £1 per person and will begin with an all-day car boot sale from 9am, followed by a junior football competition run by the Driffield Junior Football Club.
Between 11am and 1pm there will be a Women’s Soft Ball Cricket Festival.
During the afternoon, the Driffield Dance Academy will give upbeat, fun, and modern dance routines and gymnastics displays.

There will also be a rock and roll demonstration and a display from members of Driffield Karate Academy who will demonstrate fighting techniques and training methods including self defence.
There will be opportunity to have-a-go at tennis and target bowls, as well as children’s rides, a bouncy castle/slide, and face painting. As in the past there will be a tombola and raffle, cake stall, refreshments, including a BBQ, snacks, strawberry teas and bar facilities.
The day’s events will conclude with children’s races at around 4.30pm-5.00pm.

More ladies and girls over 14 are needed to take part in the Women’s Soft Ball Cricket Festival. This is being run by Yorkshire County Cricket Club coaches in conjunction with the Yorkshire Cricket Board and the ECB.
It’s a fun event, played with colourful bats and a squidgy ball, entry is free and you can enter as an individual or as a team of six.
Those entering online at www.ecb.co.uk/womenssoftballcricketfestival (select Driffield Festival) will receive a free t-shirt and all those taking part will receive a free glass of Prosecco or a soft drink from the bar.
